Bali on a scooter is one of the great travel experiences: warm air, rice fields, a cheap coconut at every corner. Booking one shouldn’t involve wiring money to a stranger. With pay on arrival, the bike comes to your door, you look it over, and you pay once you’re happy. Here’s what it costs, what you need, and how it works with SiapPergi.

What it costs

Our scooter catalogue shows fixed prices — no haggling, no “from” prices that double at the door. A selection:

Prices include two helmets and delivery anywhere in Bali. Weekly and monthly rates work out much cheaper per day — handy if you’re staying a while. Compare models in BeAT vs Scoopy and NMAX vs PCX.

How pay on arrival works

  1. Pick a scooter in the catalogue and send the form with your dates and address.
  2. Our admin confirms on WhatsApp — availability, price, delivery time.
  3. The scooter is delivered to your hotel, villa or the airport.
  4. Check it: brakes, tyres, lights, horn, fuel, the STNK registration paper under the seat, and that both helmets fit.
  5. Pay in full by bank transfer or e-wallet. No deposit up front.
  6. When you’re done, we pick it up wherever you are.

Film a slow walk-around video of the scooter before you pay, including existing scratches and the fuel gauge. It takes one minute and settles any question at the end.

Licence rules: the bit people skip

To ride legally in Bali you need a motorcycle licence from your home country plus an International Driving Permit with the motorcycle category (A). A car-only IDP doesn’t count. Police run checkpoints on tourist routes, and travel insurers often refuse claims if you crashed without the right licence. Our guide to Bali scooter rental for foreign tourists explains the rules in detail, and riding without a licence covers the risks and alternatives.

Which scooter should you pick?

  • Honda BeAT / Scoopy (110cc) — light, cheap, easy. Perfect for Canggu, Seminyak, Sanur and flat South Bali.
  • Honda Vario 125 / 160 — more power for two people and hills like Uluwatu.
  • Yamaha NMAX / Honda PCX (155–160cc) — comfortable for long rides to Ubud, Kintamani and Bedugul, and best when riding two-up.
  • Vespa Primavera — for the photos (and the style).

Still deciding? Best scooter for exploring Bali matches bikes to routes.

Delivery areas

We deliver and collect across Bali: Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Canggu, Jimbaran, Uluwatu, Nusa Dua, Sanur, Denpasar, Ubud, and further out to Amed, Lovina and Negara. Airport delivery means you can step out of arrivals and ride straight to your villa — see scooter rental at Bali airport.

Safety in one paragraph

Wear the helmet and do it up. Ride on the left. Expect dogs, potholes, sand on corners and cars pulling out without looking. Don’t ride after drinking. Avoid the first heavy rain after a dry spell — the road is slick. And start slow: day one is for getting used to the traffic, not for the Kintamani climb. Our 15 scooter safety tips are worth five minutes before your first ride.
