“How much is a rental car in Bali?” is the question we get asked most, and the honest answer is: it depends which car, which month and how long. So instead of a vague range, here’s every common rental car in Bali, what it costs, who it suits, and what to watch out for. The catalogue prices come straight from our live car rental catalogue; the market ranges are what you’ll typically see elsewhere on the island.

SiapPergi catalogue prices (self-drive)

These are fixed prices, not ‘from’ teasers. They include delivery to your hotel, villa or Ngurah Rai Airport. Minimum rental for self-drive is two days, and one day means 24 hours.

These ranges are estimates from the Bali market in 2026. High season (July–August, Christmas–New Year, Chinese New Year) pushes them up; the quiet months of February–March and November usually bring them down.

Daily vs weekly vs monthly: where the savings are

Bali rentals reward you for staying longer. A Honda Brio at the daily rate for 30 days would cost far more than the monthly price in the catalogue. If you’re here for two weeks or more, always ask for the weekly or monthly rate before you book. Long-stay tips are in monthly car rental in Bali.

Comparing quotes? Ask each rental the same four questions: Is delivery included? Is there a deposit? What’s the fuel policy? What happens if the car breaks down? The cheapest headline price isn’t always the cheapest rental.

The extras nobody puts in the headline price

  • Fuel. You usually get the car with some fuel and return it at a similar level. Pertalite and Pertamax cost roughly IDR 10–14k a litre.
  • Parking. IDR 5–10k per stop at most beaches, temples and malls; more at some beach clubs and hotels.
  • Tolls. The Bali Mandara toll road (airport–Benoa–Nusa Dua) is cheap and worth it at rush hour.
  • Driver overtime. With-driver packages normally cover 10–12 hours; extra hours are charged, often around 10% of the day rate per hour.
  • Far destinations. Drivers may charge extra for Amed, Lovina, Munduk or West Bali.
  • Child seats. Not every car has one — ask when you book.

Our driving costs in Bali article puts real numbers on a typical day out.

Is a car cheaper than taxis or Grab?

For one or two people doing short hops, Grab or Gojek is usually cheaper. For a family or group doing a full day out, a rental car almost always wins — especially once you split it four or five ways. A scooter beats both on cost if you’re comfortable riding; see Bali vehicle rental prices for scooters, cars, drivers and bicycles in one table.

How to book at these prices

  1. Choose your car in the catalogue and enter your dates and delivery address.
  2. Our admin confirms on WhatsApp — usually within minutes during the day.
  3. The car arrives; you inspect it and pay in full by bank transfer or e-wallet. No deposit up front.
