Scooter Delivered to Your Canggu Villa: Pins, Rice-Field Lanes, Fees & Handover
By the siappergi.com team · Published · 7 min read

Canggu is a patchwork of villas, guesthouses and new builds tucked behind cafés and down lanes that didn't exist a few years ago. That's exactly why delivery beats hunting for a rental shop: the scooter comes to you. It also means a few details decide whether the handover takes five minutes or forty. This guide walks through them, area by area. To book straight away, use the scooter rental in Canggu page.
What to send when you book
| Detail | Why it matters in Canggu |
|---|---|
| Google Maps pin on the villa gate | Many villas share a lane or an access road; the pin must be on your gate, not the junction |
| Villa name and unit/room number | Villa complexes often have several units behind one gate |
| Booking name | Villa staff or security can confirm who's expecting the rider |
| A time you're in | The rider needs you there to check the scooter and show documents |
| Scooter model, dates, number of riders | So the admin can confirm the exact total before you commit |
Booked through a villa app and only have an address? Open it in Google Maps, walk to the gate, and share your current location in the WhatsApp chat — that's the most reliable pin there is. For the step-by-step, see how to share your villa location for scooter delivery.
Delivery fees by area
| Area | Fee (return trip) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Batu Bolong & Echo Beach | IDR 80,000 | Busiest lanes; give a precise pin |
| Pererenan | IDR 80,000 | Quieter, villas spread out between fields |
| Berawa | IDR 60,000 | Dense area around the beach road |
| Umalas | IDR 60,000 | Long villa lanes off the main roads |
| Kerobokan | IDR 60,000 | Between Umalas and Seminyak |
| Seminyak | Free | Free like Kuta, Legian and the airport |
The fee is paid once per booking, together with the rental, when the scooter arrives. It covers bringing the scooter and collecting it at the end — even if the collection address is different within the same area.
Villas down narrow lanes
Much of Canggu's accommodation sits on small lanes (gang) that run between rice fields, walls and construction sites. They're often just wide enough for two scooters, sometimes unpaved, and usually unlit at night. Riders handle them every day — the problems come from pins dropped on the main road or on the wrong side of a field. A few habits help:
- Pin the gate, not the street. If the lane has no name on Google Maps, the pin is the only address that works.
- Mention landmarks — a café, a mini-market or a temple at the start of the lane.
- Answer the rider's call or message. When they're close, a quick voice note saves circling the block.
- Note the way in by daylight. You'll ride the same lane back at night; check where the potholes and puddles are.
After rain, some unpaved lanes in Pererenan and Umalas turn muddy. If your villa's lane is rough, say so when booking — a scooter with taller suspension such as the Honda ADV 160 may suit you better.
Gated complexes and villa staff
Some villa complexes have a security post and ask outside riders to wait at the gate. That's normal — come out to meet the rider, or let security know you're expecting a scooter. If you won't be in, the handover can't be done with staff alone: you need to be there to check the scooter, show your passport and licence, and pay.
Timing your delivery
- Arriving from the airport: schedule delivery after you've checked in, so you're not waiting with bags. The ride to Canggu takes roughly 45–75 minutes depending on traffic, and a handover at your villa means you never ride that stretch with luggage.
- Moving from another area: tell us the time you'll reach the new villa and the scooter can meet you there.
- Late-night arrivals: a next-morning delivery is often calmer than a handover on an unlit lane after a long flight.
The handover, step by step
- The rider arrives with the scooter and 2 helmets.
- Walk around it together: photograph scratches, check tyres, lights, horn, brakes and fuel.
- Show your passport and home licence + International Driving Permit — nothing is kept.
- Pay the rental and the delivery fee in Rupiah by bank transfer or e-wallet.
- Agree where the scooter will be collected at the end, and you're done.
Parking at the villa
Ask your host where scooters go — inside the gate if there's room, otherwise against the wall outside. Lock the steering, take the key, and keep the registration paper (STNK) safe. Out in Canggu, use attended parking at cafés and beaches; see scooter parking in Canggu & Seminyak.
