What actually matters more than the brand
- Size and weight. A 110 cc BeAT or Scoopy is light and forgiving for a first-time rider; a 155–160 cc NMAX or PCX feels steadier on the highway but is heavier to push in a car park.
- Riding two-up. For two adults, especially to the mountains or the Bukit, a 155–160 cc scooter makes a real difference on climbs.

- Your licence. If your motorcycle licence is limited to 125 cc, stick to the 110–125 cc models — whichever brand.
