"How much is a scooter in Canggu?" is usually the first question after landing — and the answers on Facebook groups and street signs vary wildly. This guide puts real numbers on it: our catalogue price for each popular model, what delivery to your part of Canggu costs, and worked totals for a short trip, a week and a month. If you just want to book, everything is on the Canggu scooter rental page; read on if you want to understand the total before you message.

Honda PCX 160 (Gen 2)160ccIDR 150,000IDR 300,000IDR 902,000

These are the same catalogue prices you'll find on our main scooter rental in Bali page — Canggu is not more expensive. "Ask on WhatsApp" means there's no fixed weekly package for that model; the admin quotes the best total for your dates. Bigger bikes (Honda ADV 160, Vespa, XMAX 250 and the big bikes) are in the full catalogue too.

Monthly prices: where the real savings are

ScooterPer monthWorks out per day (30 days)
Honda Vario 110 FIIDR 910,000IDR 30,333
Honda BeAT (Gen 4–5)IDR 1,210,000IDR 40,333
Honda Scoopy (Gen 4)IDR 1,410,000IDR 47,000
Yamaha Fazzio 125 HybridIDR 1,510,000IDR 50,333
Honda Vario 125IDR 1,510,000IDR 50,333
Yamaha NMAX 155 (Gen 2)IDR 2,260,000IDR 75,333

A month is where Canggu's long-stayers save: the Honda Vario 110 FI works out at about IDR 30,333 a day. The monthly rate kicks in automatically when it's cheaper than paying by the day or week, so a 3–4 week booking can cost the same as a full month. Delivery fees across the Canggu area

The fee is charged once per booking and covers both trips — bringing the scooter and collecting it at the end. It doesn't depend on how many days you rent, so it matters a lot on a short rental and hardly at all on a monthly one. Not sure which area your villa counts as? Send the Google Maps pin and the admin will tell you the fee before you commit.

Totals include the IDR 80,000 Canggu delivery fee and use the cheapest combination of daily, weekly and monthly rates. In Berawa or Umalas, subtract IDR 20,000; in Seminyak, delivery is free. Optional extras (a brand-new helmet, a phone holder, raincoats) are added only if you ask for them.

Why some Canggu prices look cheaper

You'll see hand-written signs on Jl. Pantai Batu Bolong and posts in expat groups with lower daily prices. Sometimes they're genuine — an older scooter, a long rental, low season. Sometimes the headline price leaves things out. Before you compare, check what's included:

  • Two helmets — or one, or an extra charge for the second?
  • Deposit — is your passport or a cash deposit held until you return the bike?
  • Delivery — is the scooter brought to your villa, or do you walk to a shop?
  • Condition — tyres, brakes and lights on an older model can make a cheap rental expensive if something fails.
  • Payment — are you asked to pay in full before you've seen the scooter?

Our approach is simple: the catalogue price is the price, regular scooters need no deposit, your passport is only shown, and you pay when the scooter is in front of you. For a wider look at spotting bad deals, see how to find a cheap scooter rental in Bali without getting scammed.

Staying 3 weeks or more? Ask for the monthly rate — on most models it's cheaper than three weekly packages. On a 2–3 day stay in Canggu, choosing a villa in Seminyak (free delivery) or Berawa saves on the fee.

How to keep the cost down

  1. Pick the right size. One rider around Canggu's lanes? A Honda BeAT (Gen 4–5) at IDR 80,000/day is plenty. Pay for a 155–160 cc scooter only if you'll ride two-up to Uluwatu or Ubud.
  2. Book the length you need. A weekly or monthly rate is cheaper per day than extending day by day; you can still shorten with free cancellation before delivery.
  3. One delivery for the whole stay. Moving villas within Canggu? Tell us at booking so it can be planned in one go.
  4. Skip extras you don't need. The 2 helmets are included; a brand-new helmet is optional.
  5. Fuel is on you, not the rental. A small scooter's tank goes a long way around Canggu; see fuel, petrol stations & parking in Bali.

Scooter or something else?

For a family or a group with surfboards and luggage, a self-drive car starts at IDR 310,000/day (Honda Brio), but parking in Batu Bolong and Berawa is hard. For two people, two small scooters cost less than one car and are far easier to park — two Honda BeATs are IDR 160,000/day together. Staying a little further east in Kerobokan or Umalas? See scooter rental in Kerobokan.

Book at catalogue price

  • Free delivery and pick-up to Ngurah Rai Airport and hotels or villas in Kuta, Legian & Seminyak.
  • Other areas cost extra: Berawa & Umalas IDR 60,000; Canggu (Batu Bolong, Echo Beach) & Pererenan IDR 80,000; Sanur & Jimbaran IDR 60,000; Nusa Dua IDR 80,000; Uluwatu IDR 100,000 (return trip included); anywhere else, ask on WhatsApp.
  • Pay in Indonesian Rupiah when the scooter arrives (bank transfer or e-wallet) — nothing paid in advance.
  • Your passport is shown, not held — with your home licence + International Driving Permit at handover.

  • 2 helmets with every scooter. Minimum rental 2 days. Free cancellation — just message the same WhatsApp chat.
  • Optional extras: brand-new helmet IDR 50,000, phone/GPS holder IDR 20,000 per rental, plastic raincoat IDR 10,000 each.
