Market price ranges: daily, weekly & monthly
| Model | Per day | Per week (estimate) | Per month (estimate) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Honda BeAT 110 | Rp60,000–Rp90,000 | Rp350,000–Rp550,000 | Rp700,000–Rp1,200,000 |
| Honda Scoopy 110 | Rp70,000–Rp100,000 | Rp400,000–Rp600,000 | Rp800,000–Rp1,400,000 |

| Yamaha NMAX 155 | Rp120,000–Rp200,000 | Rp700,000–Rp1,200,000 | Rp1,800,000–Rp3,000,000 |
| Honda PCX 160 | Rp120,000–Rp200,000 | Rp700,000–Rp1,200,000 | Rp1,800,000–Rp3,000,000 |
| Yamaha XMAX 250 | Rp250,000–Rp400,000 | Ask the rental | Ask the rental |
These are market ranges from our own observations, not fixed prices. A weekly price is usually equal to 5–6 days of daily rental; a monthly price to roughly 10–15 days. Ads saying "from Rp35,000" are usually for older bikes, very long rentals, or exclude delivery.
Worked example: the total cost
To avoid surprises, work out the total cost, not just the daily rate. Example for a 5-day holiday for two in Kuta on a Honda Scoopy (estimates):
| Item | Estimate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Scoopy rental, 5 days | Rp350,000–Rp500,000 | Rp70,000–Rp100,000 × 5 days |
| Delivery & pick-up | Rp0–Rp50,000 | Often free near the rental |
| Pertalite fuel | ±Rp60,000–Rp100,000 | About 6–10 litres for 300–450 km |
| Parking | ±Rp20,000–Rp50,000 | Rp2,000–Rp5,000 per tourist site |
| Deposit | Refunded | Not a cost if the scooter comes back in good condition |
That's about Rp450,000–Rp700,000 for five days — usually much cheaper than ride-hailing if you move around several times a day. The full comparison is in scooter vs ride-hailing vs car rental.
What affects the price
- Model & engine size: 155–160 cc maxi scooters (NMAX, PCX) cost more than 110 cc automatics (BeAT, Scoopy).
- Scooter age: the newest models are usually a little more expensive.
- Season: school holidays, Christmas–New Year and the European/Australian holiday season (July–August) push demand and prices up.
- Area: busy tourist areas like Canggu and Seminyak can be slightly pricier than Denpasar.
- Rental length: the longer you rent, the more likely the rental is to give you a better price.
Daily, weekly or monthly?
| Rental type | Best for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Daily (1–3 days) | Short trips, one area | Most flexible, highest price per day |
| Weekly (7 days) | A week touring Bali | Compare total prices from several rentals |
| Monthly (30 days) | Digital nomads, work, long stays | Ask the rental for a monthly price |

Extra costs to factor in
- Delivery fee to your hotel/villa (some rentals deliver free to nearby areas).
- Deposit — not a cost; it's refunded when the scooter comes back in good condition.
- Fuel — scooters are usually handed over with fuel in the tank; return it at the same level.
- Parking at tourist sites, usually a few thousand rupiah.
- Damage or loss according to the rental's terms — read them before booking.

Compare the total price, not just the daily rate. A slightly pricier scooter with free villa delivery can work out cheaper than a cheap one with a delivery fee.
Do prices differ by area?
Only slightly, usually Rp5,000–Rp20,000 per day for the same model. Busy tourist areas like Canggu, Seminyak and Uluwatu tend to be a little pricier, especially for the NMAX and PCX. Kuta and Denpasar have many rentals, so prices are more competitive. The delivery fee often matters more: rent in the area where you're staying.
