Lots of travellers land in Bali and head straight for Ubud. Riding from the airport is possible, but think about the route, rush hour and your luggage first. Here's the best way to do it — and the most practical alternative.

When to ride
- Avoid 4–7 pm: the Bypass and Simpang Siur junction are at their busiest.
- Landing at night? Village roads into Ubud are dark — consider riding the next morning.
- Rainy season (roughly November–March): carry a raincoat and slow down.
- Fill up at a petrol station on the Bypass or IB Mantra before reaching Ubud.
Luggage: scooter or transfer?
