Bali is a top honeymoon and holiday destination for Koreans, and scooters are the fun way to get around. Before you book, check one thing on your international permit: whether category A (motorcycles) is marked. Here's why it matters.

What a Korean rider needs

DocumentWhy it matters
Korean licence with motorcycle entitlement (e.g. 2nd class small)Bali scooters (110–160 cc) are motorcycles
International driving permit with category A markedWhat police and insurers look at abroad
PassportShown at handover and police checks
Travel insurance covering scooter ridingCheck the licence conditions

Rules can change; check the Korean licence agency and your embassy's travel information before you go.

The 125 cc car-licence privilege

Korean car licences cover small motorcycles at home, but an international permit based on a car licence usually shows only category B (cars). In Bali you'd effectively be riding without a motorcycle licence — risky at a police check and a reason for an insurer to refuse a claim.

Not licensed for motorcycles? Don't gamble: a car with driver, a rental car or ride-hailing is safer for you and your insurance.

How booking works

  1. Pick a scooter in the catalogue (or tell us your height, route and how many riders and we'll suggest one).
  2. Send your dates, the hotel or villa name with a Google Maps pin, and your WhatsApp number.
  3. The admin confirms the bike, the total price and the delivery time — no payment yet.
  4. The scooter arrives with 2 helmets. Check it together, show your passport and licence, then pay in full (bank transfer or e-wallet).

Book on WhatsApp or via the Bali scooter rental catalogue: the bike is delivered to your hotel or villa and you pay when it arrives.

Frequently asked questions

Can I ride a scooter in Bali with a Korean car licence?

Not legally in most cases. The 125 cc privilege is domestic; abroad you need category A (motorcycle) on your international permit.

Where do I get an international driving permit in Korea?

At driver's licence test centres, police stations or some airport service desks, before you travel.

Which scooter is best for a honeymoon?

An NMAX or PCX for comfort two-up; a Scoopy or Fazzio for photos.

Do I pay in advance?

No. You pay in full when the scooter is delivered.
