Bedugul & Munduk by Scooter: Lakes, Ulun Danu & Waterfalls
By the siappergi.com team · Published · 6 min read · Baca dalam Bahasa Indonesia

The highlands of Bedugul and Munduk offer cool air, volcanic lakes and waterfalls in the forest. This route is longer than Ubud–Kintamani, so plan it carefully.
Suggested route
| Stop | Notes |
|---|---|
| Start from Canggu/Seminyak/Ubud | Leave early, around 07:00 |
| Jatiluwih rice terraces (optional) | Vast terraces, a UNESCO World Heritage site |
| Ulun Danu Beratan Temple | Temple on the shore of Lake Beratan |
| Lakes Buyan & Tamblingan | Viewpoints from the ridge road |
| Waterfalls around Munduk | Short treks, wear good footwear |
| Back to the south | Return before the afternoon fog |
From South Bali to Bedugul is about a 1.5–2 hour ride. A round trip including Munduk can take 8–10 hours.

Scooter & gear
- Use a 150 cc or bigger scooter such as an NMAX or PCX — the climbs are long.
- Bring a jacket and raincoat; rain and fog often roll in suddenly.
- Make sure the brakes and tyres are in good condition before you set off.
Mountain-road safety tips
- Sharp, narrow bends — never overtake on a bend.
- Turn your lights on in fog.
- Slow down on wet, mossy roads.
- If you're tired, staying a night in Munduk is safer than forcing a night ride home.
