East Bali, in Karangasem Regency, is quieter than the south, with views of Mount Agung, royal water gardens and beaches for snorkelling. This route suits a full day or an overnight stay in Amed.
Route options
- Lempuyang Temple — leave very early for a shorter queue at the Gates of Heaven photo spot.
- Tirta Gangga — a royal water garden with pools and statues.
- Taman Ujung — a water palace by the sea.
- Amed — snorkelling at Jemeluk and sunset with Mount Agung as the backdrop.
From Sanur to Karangasem takes about 2–2.5 hours. For a more relaxed trip, stay a night in Amed.
Which scooter to ride
