As Canggu filled up, villa building spread west across the river into Seseh, Cemagi and Munggu. You get sunsets over empty black-sand beaches, rice fields outside the window and cafés slowly following — but almost everything you'll want (surf school, gym, supermarket, nightlife) is still a ride away in Pererenan or Canggu. Without a scooter you'll spend a lot on short ride-hailing trips. This guide is for villa guests in these three villages; Pererenan and Berawa are covered in scooter rental in Berawa & Pererenan.

Delivery to Seseh, Cemagi and Munggu

These villages sit next to the Canggu rental area, so delivery to your villa is routine. Send the villa name and a Google Maps pin (villa names repeat, and many lanes have no street name) and say where the bike can be parked. The admin confirms the time and total price on WhatsApp; you pay when the scooter arrives.

Arriving at night? Book the scooter for the next morning. The lanes between the rice fields are dark and unfamiliar on the first night — take a car from the airport.

Which scooter suits the lanes here?

ScooterDailyWeeklyMonthly
Honda BeAT (Gen 4–5)IDR 80,000IDR 425,000IDR 1,210,000
Honda Scoopy (Gen 4)IDR 90,000IDR 515,000IDR 1,410,000
Yamaha Fazzio 125 HybridIDR 100,000IDR 515,000IDR 1,510,000
Honda Vario 125IDR 100,000IDR 515,000IDR 1,510,000
Yamaha NMAX 155 (Gen 2)IDR 150,000IDR 902,000IDR 2,260,000

Most roads are narrow concrete or asphalt lanes between rice fields and walls, with tight turns into villa gates. A light, small scooter like the Honda Scoopy, BeAT or Fazzio is easiest to manoeuvre and park. Two adults or regular runs to Seminyak and Uluwatu? An NMAX is more comfortable. Staying a month or more, check the monthly scooter rental rates.

Local riding tips

  • Rice-field lanes are narrow and sometimes one-way in practice — slow down at blind corners and give way to cars by pulling in.
  • Potholes and puddles after rain. In the wet season (roughly November–March) some lanes flood briefly; ride slowly through, never fast.
  • Dogs and ceremonies. Village dogs chase scooters at night; temple ceremonies can close roads — see ceremony road closures.
  • Parking in Canggu. Use marked scooter parking and don't leave helmets on the seat — tips in scooter parking in Canggu & Seminyak.
  • Sand at beach car parks. Park on firm ground; sand tips scooters over.

Yes, these villages are next to the Canggu rental area. Send the villa name and Maps pin on WhatsApp; you pay when the scooter arrives.

How far is Seseh from Canggu?

Pererenan is 5–10 minutes away and Batu Bolong in Canggu about 15–25 minutes, depending on traffic.
