A semester in Bali means classes during the week and beaches, volcanoes and waterfalls at the weekend. A scooter makes both easy — and on a monthly rate it costs less than a few days of taxis. Here's the student guide.

Where students live

AreaWhy students choose itRide to Jimbaran campus area (approx.)
JimbaranClose to campus, beaches and cheap warungs5–15 min
Denpasar (Renon, Panjer)Cheaper rooms (kos), city life25–40 min
Kuta & TubanNightlife, near the airport20–30 min
CangguSurf and cafés, but a long commute45–75 min

Pick your room first, then rent the scooter for the full semester — swapping areas later is possible, but a long daily commute eats your time.

Licence, visa & insurance

  • Ride only with a motorcycle licence and an IDP, or an Indonesian licence if you're eligible.
  • Your visa must match your study stay — your university's international office will advise.
  • Check that your student health or travel insurance covers scooter riding.
  • Read International Driving Permit for Bali.

Budget tips

  • Monthly rent + petrol is usually cheaper than ride-hailing to campus every day.
  • Share weekend trips: two students on an NMAX for Kintamani or Amed.
  • Fill up at Pertamina stations — see petrol & parking in Bali.
  • Report any damage early so the bike can be fixed before small issues grow.

How booking works

  1. Pick a scooter in the catalogue (or tell us your height, route and how many riders and we'll suggest one).
  2. Send your dates, the hotel or villa name with a Google Maps pin, and your WhatsApp number.
  3. The admin confirms the bike, the total price and the delivery time — no payment yet.
  4. The scooter arrives with 2 helmets. Check it together, show your passport and licence, then pay in full (bank transfer or e-wallet).

Book on WhatsApp or via the Bali scooter rental catalogue: the bike is delivered to your hotel or villa and you pay when it arrives.
