There's one more way to fly direct between Australia and Bali. TransNusa has announced a new Melbourne–Denpasar route starting 19 October 2026, together with a new service class called Premium Plus. Here is a summary of the schedule, fares and practical points for passengers, based on the announcement reported by ANTARA and IDN Times.

Melbourne–Bali flight schedule

According to ANTARA (17/9/2026), the flights are scheduled daily, with a morning departure from Melbourne and an evening departure from Bali. A Travel And Tour World report gives a different frequency, so passengers should confirm the latest schedule on the airline's official website before booking.

Fares and Premium Plus class

Introductory Basic fares start from AUD299, or about Rp3,399,000. TransNusa is also introducing Premium Plus from about Rp9,099,000, with priority services and extra baggage without business-class prices. Premium Plus is limited to 20 seats per flight, so the airline recommends booking early.

TransNusa Group CEO Datuk Bernard Francis called the route launch a major step in the airline's international expansion strategy. Melbourne is TransNusa's second Australian destination after Perth.

Introductory fares can change and are usually limited. Compare the total price (including baggage) on the airline's official website before paying.

After landing at Ngurah Rai Airport

The Melbourne flight lands in Bali at 09:40 WITA, a good time to head straight to your accommodation. A few practical points for passengers:

  • Foreign tourists pay the Rp150,000 per person Foreign Tourist Levy, which can be paid online via the Bali provincial government's official Love Bali portal.
  • Heading to Canggu, Ubud or Kintamani: distances and estimated travel times from the airport are on the Bali travel page, for example Airport to Ubud at about 37 km.
  • Want to ride a scooter straight away? See scooter rental at Bali Airport and estimated Bali scooter rental prices. Foreign tourists must carry their home licence plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) that covers motorcycles.
  • Continuing to other islands: fast boats to Nusa Penida leave from Sanur, about 30 minutes' drive from the airport.
