Scooter Rental in Ubud: Models, Prices and How to Get One Delivered
By the siappergi.com team · Published · 3 min read
Scooter rental in Ubud is the easiest way to reach rice-terrace viewpoints, waterfalls and cafés at your own pace, without relying on drivers for every trip. SiapPergi delivers scooters to hotels and villas in Ubud at fixed catalogue prices, with no deposit and payment only when the vehicle arrives.
Why rent a scooter in Ubud
Ubud sits in the hills of central Bali, and many of its best sights, such as Tegallalang rice terraces, Tegenungan waterfall and the quieter villages around Payangan, are spread out along winding roads. A scooter lets you leave early for the rice fields before the tour groups arrive, stop when you want, and return to your villa at lunchtime.
Scooter models and fixed prices
SiapPergi uses fixed catalogue prices in Indonesian Rupiah, the same in Ubud as everywhere else on the island. Scooter rental starts at Rp70.000 per day (24 hours). Examples:
| Model | Price per day |
|---|---|
| Honda BeAT (Gen 4–5) | Rp80.000 |
| Honda Scoopy (Gen 4) | Rp90.000 |
| Honda Vario 125 | Rp100.000 |
| Yamaha NMAX 155 (Gen 2) | Rp150.000 |
| Honda PCX 160 (Gen 2) | Rp150.000 |
| Yamaha XMAX 250 (Gen 2) | Rp310.000 |
Weekly rates start from Rp395.000 and monthly rates from Rp910.000. The system applies the cheapest mix of daily, weekly and monthly rates for your dates. Minimum rental is 2 days.
For most Ubud trips a light automatic such as the Honda Vario 125 or Honda BeAT is enough. Choose an NMAX or PCX if you plan longer rides or want more power for hills. You can compare every option on the scooter rental page.
What you need to rent
Prepare these before the team arrives:
- A motorcycle licence. Foreign visitors need their home-country licence plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) with the motorcycle category. Check the requirements with your own embassy or the official Indonesian source, as rules can change.
- Your passport or ID card. SiapPergi does not hold it; you only show it together with your licence at handover.
- Minimum age 17.
Licence and IDP rules are set by the Indonesian authorities and can change. Confirm the current requirements before you travel.

- The scooter is delivered to your accommodation. Delivery is included in the price, with no delivery fee.
- Check the vehicle together. Each scooter has its original registration (STNK) and official plates, and tyres, brakes, lights and oil are checked before every rental.
- Show your licence and passport or ID for the handover.
- Pay in Rupiah on arrival (cash, bank transfer or e-wallet). There is no deposit and no online payment.
At return, the team collects the scooter from the same place.
Practical tips for riding in Ubud
- Start early. Traffic on Jalan Raya Ubud and the road to Tegallalang builds up quickly from mid-morning.
- Fill up before heading into the hills, as stations are less frequent away from the centre.
- Wear the two helmets included with every scooter, and add a raincoat (from Rp15.000) if you ride in the afternoon rain, which is common in the wet season.
- Park in designated spots near monkey forest and market areas and keep valuables out of sight.
Things to know before you ride
Ubud's roads are narrow, steep in places and shared with buses, bicycles and pedestrians. If you are new to scooters, practise in a quiet area first. Do not plan to take the scooter onto a fast boat: scooters cannot go to Nusa Penida, the Gili Islands or Lombok, so rent another one at those destinations.
