Scooter Rental Bali: The Complete Guide
By the siappergi.com team · Published · 3 min read · Baca dalam Bahasa Indonesia
Scooter rental in Bali is the most flexible way to explore the island, from the beaches of Canggu to the rice terraces of Ubud. This guide covers prices, requirements, and the practical steps so you are ready to ride as soon as the scooter reaches your accommodation.
Why rent a scooter in Bali?
Public transport on Bali is limited, and the attractions are often far apart. With your own scooter you can stop whenever you like, find a warung on a small road, or move on without waiting for a timetable. For a trip of 2 days or more, a scooter is almost always cheaper than taking a ride-hailing app every day.
Scooter models and prices
Prices at SiapPergi are fixed catalogue prices in Indonesian Rupiah and are the same across Bali. The minimum rental is 2 days.
| Model | Engine | Price per day |
|---|---|---|
| Honda BeAT (Gen 4–5) | 110cc | Rp80.000 |
| Honda Scoopy (Gen 4) | 110cc | Rp90.000 |
| Honda Vario 125 | 125cc | Rp100.000 |
| Yamaha NMAX 155 (Gen 2) | 155cc | Rp150.000 |
| Honda PCX 160 (Gen 2) | 160cc | Rp150.000 |
| Yamaha XMAX 250 (Gen 2) | 250cc | Rp310.000 |
For longer rentals, weekly and monthly rates apply automatically. A 110cc automatic is enough for town and main roads, while a 155cc or 160cc is more comfortable on steep climbs and long rides such as to Kintamani or Munduk.
Scooter rental requirements
- Indonesian motorcycle licence (SIM C) for Indonesian riders.
- Foreign visitors: your home licence with the motorcycle category, plus an International Driving Permit (IDP).
- Passport or ID card to show at handover.
- Minimum age of 17.
Licence and IDP rules are set by the Indonesian government and the police. They can change, so check the official source before you travel.

Safe riding tips in Bali
- Wear the helmet provided and make sure it is fastened firmly. Every SiapPergi scooter comes with 2 helmets.

- Avoid night riding on quiet roads that are not well lit.
- Park only in safe areas and do not leave valuables on the seat.
- Scooters cannot go on fast boats to Nusa Penida, the Gilis, or Lombok. Rent a scooter at your destination instead.
