Monthly Scooter Rental & Documents for Foreigners | SiapPergi

Monthly scooter rental and document requirements for foreigners are the two things to understand before you rent a scooter for a long stay in Indonesia. This guide sums up the documents you must bring, how monthly rental works, and the practical steps to get the bike to you without a deposit.

Why monthly rental often makes more sense for foreigners

For visitors, digital nomads, or expats staying a few weeks to several months, daily rental can feel expensive and tiring. Monthly rental gives a lower price per day and means you don't have to return the bike every few days.

At SiapPergi, scooters start from Rp70.000 per day, with weekly packages from Rp395.000 and monthly from Rp910.000. Prices are fixed in Indonesian Rupiah and are not negotiated. The price that matches your number of days is calculated automatically: the system picks the mix of daily, weekly and monthly rates that is cheapest for your dates.

Documents foreigners need to prepare

Riding rules in Indonesia are set by the police and the national government, and they can change at any time. So check the latest requirements on official government sources before you travel. In general, foreigners riding a motorbike should carry:

  • A driving licence from your home country with the motorcycle category.
  • An International Driving Permit (IDP) that also lists the motorcycle category. Your home licence alone usually isn't enough.
  • Your original passport, or your KITAS/KITAP if you hold one.
  • A visa that is still valid for your length of stay.

Note: immigration and police policies can change. Make sure you check the current information on official government sources before booking.

Steps for monthly scooter rental, from start to finish

  1. Set your dates and address. Note your start date, your estimated end date, and the address of your hotel, villa, home, or Ngurah Rai Airport.
  2. Choose a model. Honda BeAT, Scoopy, Vario 125, NMAX, PCX, or XMAX. Each model has its own page on the SiapPergi site.
  3. Message us on WhatsApp. Contact +6281808001102 every day from 07.00 to 23.00 WITA, in English or Indonesian. Include the model, dates, and delivery address.
  4. Get your documents ready. The scooter is handed over together with your licence and passport, which you show at handover. SiapPergi does not keep your passport or ID.
  5. Receive the scooter and pay. You pay in Rupiah when the scooter is delivered and you meet the team. There is no online payment and no transfer before the bike arrives.

Technical requirements that are often missed

  • Minimum age 17 to rent a scooter.
  • Two helmets come free with every scooter rental. Raincoats can be added for an extra fee from Rp15.000.
  • Book early in peak holiday season, as the number of units is limited.
  • Check the vehicle papers. Every bike has its original registration (STNK) and official plates, and the brakes, lights, tyres and oil are checked before it is rented out.

How SiapPergi helps

SiapPergi delivers the scooter to your hotel, villa, or Ngurah Rai Airport anywhere in mainland Bali, with no delivery fee. You don't pay a deposit and you don't need to transfer money before the scooter arrives. The price shown is the price you pay, with extras only for the accessories you choose. Coverage includes Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu, Ubud, and Bali Airport.

If you want a car instead, see car rental or the how to book guide. Scooters cannot be taken to Nusa Penida, the Gili Islands, or Lombok, because fast boats don't carry scooters.
